The huge thing that needs support

Yemen

In 2020 I saw a peace centre in Yemen. Nothing physical stood there. Then I realised: the peace centre is you.

The vision

In 2020 I had the vision that I would create a peace centre in Yemen. The peace centre took — I mean, there is nothing physically there, nothing is there. And I realised: okay, the peace centre is you.

So first, before things become visible like this kind of centre, it has to be established in your system — in the human system.

The project on the ground

The Mini-Olympics in Yemen: from Aden to Sanaa, with Ali Khousrof, the Yemeni judoka, and my brother Mohammed Nashwan behind the camera. It ended with the first medals. It is the huge thing that needs support.

Why being known matters

The more we are known, the easier it is to get exhibitions, and the bigger the exhibitions are, the more money we can get. That is the mechanism. My friend Martin is a filmmaker and wants to make a film about me — he is printing the flyers now, and everyone who comes to the exhibition will also get the flyer.

The more we are known, the easier we get exhibitions, and the bigger the exhibitions are, the more we can get money.
