The connecting point to every project

Shugaa Nashwan

My name means courage in Arabic. Judo is my access to life — and every project on this site grows out of the same wish: that people find peace in themselves.

Who I am

My name means courage in Arabic. As a blind professional athlete I can and want to share my experiences and all the stories with you. Judo is my access to life — and whether because of, or precisely because of, I am gradually going blind, everything I do begins there.

It is enough for me to say: I won some medals, and in Germany I was named Athlete of the Year. The newspaper clippings and all of it belong here on this one page — not spread across separate pages.

The thread through everything

People ask what connects judo to soil to Yemen to leadership. The answer is simple: it is one question. Am I with existence, or against it? Every project on this site is an answer to that question, built at a different scale.

The peace centre is you. Before things will be visible, like a centre of that kind, it has to be established in your system — in the human system.
